If you are familiar with the Beswick Refrigeration ethos you know how much pride we take in delivering a quality service and that was certainly the case when we were invited to contribute to the restoration and re-opening of The Oak Tavern and Tap House in Sevenoaks, Kent. A new entry to the Mosaic Pub and Dining stable, The Oak certainly lived up to the Mosaic ideal of creating pubs which each have their own identity but deliver a common theme of having “talented and passionate staff delivering a quality experience.”
Those enjoying The Oak experience have the added bonus of seeing a brewery at the heart of the pub, creating craft ales to be enjoyed on the premises. BRS were invited by Andy Humphrey of AJAT Consultant Project Engineers to undertake the reconditioning, commissioning and installation work for the brewery. Second hand brewery tanks were sourced from a brewery in Newark which was expanding its own production line. These ‘Grundy Cellar Tanks’ once reconditioned were perfect for The Oak’s brewery needs, combined with new stainless steel hygienic and cooling pipework for an optimised brewing experience.
Proving yet again the way in which companies can collaborate to deliver a complete experience, Speedrite joined the project to position the vessels and AC Electrical played their part in commissioning the electrics.
The BRS element of the project took three weeks from initial reconditioning to installation; with a team of three on site to complete the work.
The Oak Tavern and Tap House started brewing in April and was formally opened on 4th May. The diners may not be able to enjoy the view of the hop fields which were once sited behind The Oak but they can certainly now enjoy watching the brewery in production.
